Fabric is soft but has a slight plasticky sheen. This Ponte de Roma is a bit more prone to fraying than most double-knits I've come across, but it seems fine. The reason I've rated it as low as three stars was actually because of the grain, which skews off to such an incredible degree it is impossible to correct. I've made a dress from it, so far it has not twisted/warped. Be warned, if you are buying an exact measurement for cutting pieces in a specific orientation, you may need to buy more. I cannot speak for the rest of the bolt/production of the fabric, but this has been my experience.
