This black modal/spx dress weight fabric is very soft with great stretch and drape. It was thinner than I expected since it was labeled as "Dress weight". I made a maxi dress out of it, and had enough to do two layers for the top and a short slip underneath; otherwise I don't think the fabric could have held up the skirt, and it would have been see-through. It feels lovely; I am concerned that since it is so soft it will still pill, but it is obviously better quality fabric than the rayon most store-bought maxi dresses are made of.
